Piano Teaching Business Kit FAQ
Q: What system and software requirements are needed to access the documents on the disk?
A: The E-Book will come as a PDF, which you can read using Adobe Reader. You can download Adobe Reader for free online. If you don't know how to do this, we'll show you how after your purchase. The Business Documents will be downloaded as well. They require various Office programs to read. You'll need Microsoft Office 2003 or later: Word, Excel and Publisher. The documents were created using Microsoft Office 2003 programs like Excel, Word and Publisher. If you do not have Microsoft Office, you can download Open Office for free and be able to access the files using Open Office. To do so, go to www.OpenOffice.org for a free download.
Q: What kind of musical knowledge must I possess?
A: Obviously, a background in piano is a must. However, as you will be teaching mostly beginner students, you only need to have an intermediate piano skill level. College students, seniors, and all ages in between have made lots of money teaching our program. Good teachers will have a strong background in: music reading, finger technique, a love of children, etc.
Q: What kind of business qualifications do I need to have?
A: No formal business training is required! With our piano teacher's business kit, you will have all the tools you need to start making as much as $110/hour! Remember, we have taken over 15 years of teaching and business experience and incorporated it into one package so you can benefit from the "blood sweat and tears" we have put into learning the best way to offer a program.
Q: How long will it take for me to be able to start making up to $110/hour?
A: That is completely up to you! Although there are "seasons" in the teaching business (ex: about 70% of your students will sign up in the fall), with the proper preparation, you can start this program at any time.
Q: Is it worth the money?
A: This business kit or piano teacher's resources is not just an e-book or pamphlet on why you should charge more for lessons. It does more than tell you to "advertise and charge more than the competition." It does more than give teaching tips and sample brochure designs. It tells you everything you need to do for a successful program. It is the culmination of over 15 years in a very unique and untapped industry. It will save you hundreds of hours of preparation time.
Q: Can't I just create a program on my own?
A: Of course you can, but answer this: how much do you make per hour? Remember that old adage, "time is money?" Multiply how much you make per hour by 200 hours. That is how much it could cost you if you created all of the files in this kit yourself!
With a small initial investment, you will be earning much more than you ever thought possible teaching piano! Why not start the jump start the process and save all of the time and hassle of figuring it out on your own through trial and error?
Q: Is a big financial investment required to start my program?
A: A big financial investment is not necessary, although some choose to invest more money than others. A computer and printer is essential. After purchasing the kit, you will more than likely need to print some brochures and get some copies made, which will require paper and ink. You will also need access to a phone for customers to call you. Since these are all things that most people have access to already, this will probably not be an issue for you.
You probably will need a small portable keyboard (we recommend at least 72 touch sensitive keys), which you can easily find for under $200.
Q: Who created this program?
A: Danielle Palacios is the author of this program, as well as the creator of the business documents. This program is the result of more than 15 years of teaching and self employment experience. In addition to her 15 years of teaching experience, Danielle also has a Graphics Design and writing background, having worked for a newspaper in the Detroit area for several years. She has found her niche by combining a lifetime of experience into one program for you.
After years of telling friends, "Sorry I can't go out with you tomorrow night, I have to teach!"; after years of thinking "I wish I could teach more than just 25 hours a week!", Danielle started thinking outside of the box and developed a program that not only allowed her to teach during the day, but quadrupled her income! The journey wasn't the easiest one though. Because she wasn't following in anyone else's footsteps, she had to learn the best way to present, market and grow her program through trial and error. She has included specific marketing tips that no business book will tell you. She has included time lines for a seamless year from fall enrollment to spring recital. She even tells you what she has learned to not do!
Q: Does it matter where I live?
A: While it is very fair to say that some parents will sacrifice and save their last dime to send their child to piano lessons, a neighborhood's average household income is something to think about when choosing where to offer your program.
If you live in a rural area, you might have better luck going to the closest larger town to offer your program.
Our program kit will give you lots of tips on choosing the best places to hold your program.
Q: Will this program show me how to teach the piano?
A: Although we list suggested curriculum, our kit is designed to help you with the business end of running a piano program. We provide excellent piano teaching materials and aid to help you succeed on your business. There are some excellent curriculum out there with teacher's guides that will help you through the teaching process. With the help of a good curriculum, even a beginning teacher can be a successful educator.
